HIGHLIGHTS

Nicole van der Kaay, born in Rotorua, New Zealand, made her elite breakthrough at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, finishing 7th individually and claiming bronze in the mixed relay. She went on to represent New Zealand at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, placing 29th individually and 12th in the mixed relay.

At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, van der Kaay finished 9th in the women’s race and helped New Zealand to a 4th-place finish in the mixed relay. In 2023, she earned her first World Cup victory on home soil in New Plymouth. Most recently, in 2025, she secured the Oceania Triathlon Sprint Championship title in Mooloolaba, continuing to establish herself as one of New Zealand’s top triathletes on the international stage.
