Podium Racing Dominates Toulouse, Claims 2025 Supertri Championship!

What a season it has been for Podium Racing! Coming into the final Supertri race in Toulouse, France, with a comfortable 40-point lead over fierce rivals Crown Racing, the championship was within their grasp. But as any seasoned race fan knows, anything can happen in triathlon, and Podium Racing wasn't leaving anything to chance.

Podium Racing takes the top step for the 2025 Supertri season

Under the leadership of team owner and manager John Anthony, Podium Racing enlisted the help of the team’s data scientist to run game theory simulations. While mathematically the team was in an excellent position, these scenarios meticulously highlighted a number of plausible—and unnerving—ways Crown Racing could still snatch victory. This foresight proved invaluable.

John Anthony’s message to the team was clear: "It's on Crown to bring the race to us." With a substantial lead, Podium athletes were instructed to avoid unnecessary risks, respond to Crown’s tactics, and crucially, allow other teams to do the heavy lifting. Teams like Stars and Stripes and Brownlee Racing, mathematically out of the championship contention, would inadvertently play into Podium’s hands by taking points away from Crown.

Men's Race: A Series of Unfortunate Events

The day dawned with the men's race, and immediately, Podium Racing faced an uphill battle. Disaster struck early when Dorian Coninx, the 2023 triathlon World Champion, flatted on the first bike leg, taking him out of contention.

Meanwhile, Tayler Reid, having another stellar start, found himself caught behind a crash, pushing him out of podium contention and relegating him to a still respectable 6th overall. ENVE Composite Next-gen athlete John Reed put in a strong effort, finishing 8th, though it wasn’t his best day. Newcomer Antoine Duval, making his debut on home soil, unfortunately struggled and was eliminated.

The men's race didn't go as planned, and Podium Racing saw their commanding lead halved, giving Crown Racing a renewed sense of hope. The pressure now squarely fell on the women's shoulders to deliver the championship.

Women's Race: Dominance and Deliverance

With the championship on the line, the women's race unfolded with palpable tension. As expected, Podium Racing's powerhouses Jeanne Lehair and Léonie Périault were at the front, battling intensely with Crown's Georgia Tayler-Brown. But a surprise contender emerged in Jessica Fullagar, who also showed incredible form and stayed in the lead pack.

It was a truly dominant performance by the Podium Racing women. Jeanne Lehair showcased her incredible form by taking the win, even skipping her earned short chute. Léonie Périault crossed the line in a fantastic second place, solidifying Podium's grip on the race. ENVE Composite Next-gen athlete Zuzana Michalickova delivered a strong 7th place finish, and Sophie Alden rounded out the team's effort in 13th.

The women's stellar performance not only secured the Toulouse race but also propelled Podium Racing's lead over Crown to a commanding 54 points, officially crowning them (pun intended) the 2025 Supertri Series Champions!

  • Men's Depth: John Reed, Tayler Reid, and Alberto González Garcia took 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively, with Kenji Nener grabbing 10th. Podium Racing was the only team to place all four of its men in the top 10 overall!

  • Run Domination: Léonie Périault and Jeanne Lehair showcased their blistering speed, taking 1st and 2nd respectively in the women's run leaderboard.

  • Bike Power: They also proved their strength on two wheels, securing 2nd and 3rd in the women's bike leaderboard.

  • John Reed's Explosive Run: John Reed dominated the men's run leaderboard, taking the win with an incredible 12 points over second-place finisher Alex Yee, who had 4 points.

  • ENVE Advantage: Thanks to his lightning-fast ENVE Melee road bike, John Reed secured 3rd in the men's bike leaderboard while Zuzanna made her debut as U23 athlete and secured 8th overall.
